Events › Meet Kitsap County Search Dogs

Dogs, with their keen sense of smell and intelligence, are a huge asset to a search effort. It takes patience, dedication and hundreds of hours to become an effective canine search team. Specialized canines assist the Sheriff in locating lost, injured, or missing persons or victims of natural or man-made disasters in Kitsap County.

This program will include a presentation from a staff member of KCSD, time for Q&A, and an opportunity at the end to meet the dogs. It will also include demonstration showing a dog searching for, and finding, a person.

Kitsap County Search Dogs is a unit of professional volunteers under the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management.
